PUBLIC NOTICE
The City of Cayce has received from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) a revised Flood Insurance Study report and Flood Insurance Rate Maps for the area adjoining the Congaree River. FEMA has requested review and comments from the City by May 8, 2008. Copies of the report and maps are available for inspection at City Hall during normal business hours.
Interested City residents and property owners are invited to submit written comments to the Cayce City Manager, John Sharpe, PO Box 2004, Cayce, SC 29171 by May 6, 2008. The City Manager will make recommendations to City Council for the City's response to FEMA at the May 6, 2008 Council Meeting to be held at 6:00 p.m., Cayce City Hall, 1800 12th Street.
DROUGHT STATUS DOWNGRADED TO INCIPIENT
The SC Department of Natural Resources has downgraded the drought status to incipient for 20 South Carolina counties, including Lexington County. In accordance with the City of Cayce’s Drought Response Ordinance, residents and businesses are asked to voluntarily continue to conserve water.
