Cayce Explorers Post 607

Seal of Explorer's Post

The mission of Cayce's Police Department Explorer Post is to provide a strong community-based policing program for Cayce youth. This is accomplished by providing its participants with law enforcement training, encouraging personal fitness, and providing social and outdoor recreational activities.

Law Enforcement Exploring is a division of the Boy Scouts of America for both male and female students aged 14 to 20 years who are interested in a career in law enforcement.

The program includes weekly meetings/ training sessions which are held every Thursday night at the Freeman Hill Sub-Station from 7:30pm to 9:00pm.

Explorers receive specialized training in all areas of law enforcement, including arrest procedures, traffic stops, crime scene investigations, firearm training, emergency preparedness, building searches, fingerprinting, first aid, report writing and radio training.

In addition, the South Carolina Association of Law Enforcement Explorers hosts a yearly competition each summer. Explorers from around the state compete in a variety of scenarios to test their law enforcement training and knowledge.

Explorers also participate in a number of local community events and Police Department functions, including ride-a- longs with Cayce public safety officers.
