Serve on a Citizen Committee

It Takes All of Us To Make It Work...

If this rings true to you, then maybe we can count on you to get involved and serve on one of Cayce's citizen committees.  We need citizens to fill partial or full terms.  Typically, committees meet once a month.  If serving on one of the following committees interests you, please complete and return this form, and we will gladly contact you.  Some committees require that one or more individuals have specific experience, others....simply the desire and commitment to serve.

  • Accommodations Tax Committee...
determines where accommodations tax funds will be spent to promote tourism.
  • Museum & Historical Commission... studies and preserves the history of the area and acquires and exhibits historically significant works.
  • Beautification Board...
makes recommendations to keep Cayce beautiful.
  • Planning Commission...
advises City Council in the establishment of land use, zoning, and development regulations and makes recommendations to Council in response to related requests.
  • Cayce Housing Authority...
works with Columbia Housing Authority officials to adapt State and Federal financial aid programs to our area's housing needs.
  • Special Projects & Traffic (SPAT)...
investigates traffic-related safety concerns and reviews citizens requests for street lighting, traffic light signals, signage, and the paving and resurfacing of streets.
  • Holiday Event Committee...
plans, organizes and produces Christmas In Cayce and other special area activities.
  • Board of Zoning Appeals...
reviews zoning appeals and makes final determination as to whether appeals are denied or upheld.
  • Housing/Construction Board of Adjustment and Appeals...
reviews citizen appeals to ensure building appeals ordinances are properly interpreted and implemented fairly.
  • Municipal Elections Committee...
works closely with the City's Municipal Clerk and County Board of Voter Registration during all city elections to oversee poll managers, poll workers and voting guidelines for the city's district voting location.

Why Serve?        Because if can help shape many of the things that will happen as we evolve as a community.  Because it provides a mechanism for your local elected officials to hear what you have to say.  Because it helps your community strive to become a better community for everyone.
