1)  BUSINESS LICENSES 

Anyone engaged in any business, occupation, or profession in the City of Cayce needs to obtain a Business License from the City. This includes those businesses or professionals located elsewhere who conduct business within the corporate limits of Cayce.

Before doing business in Cayce, it is always a good idea to call the Business License office to discuss your license requirements.  If the business is located within the corporate limits of Cayce, you will be required to obtain a Zoning Permit and a safety inspection prior to issuance of a Business License.

2)  GARAGE SALES

     

    If you're planning a Garage Sale, please note the following guidelines as outlined in the City's Zoning Ordinance.

  1. A permit must be obtained from City Hall for each sale and posted at the site of the sale.  The cost of each permit is $5.00 per day for a maximum of six (6) days per permit.  The maximum number of permits allowed per year is four (4) per family.
  1. Off-street parking shall be provided for all persons attending the sale.
  1. No new or used merchandise shall be purchased or brought in for the sale.
  1. All merchandise shall be that of the family or families conducting the sale.
  1. Only one sign may be posted advertising the sale and the sign should be placed on the private property of the person conducting the sale.  Hours of the sale shall be from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.  No Sunday sales will be allowed.
  1. The use of a public address system is prohibited.
  1. No alcoholic beverages of any type shall be served or given on or near the premises.
  1. If upon inspection by the City Manager or his designee, the inspector or a policeman, he finds that in his opinion the ordinance is being violated, a citation will be issued or the right to continue with the sale will be terminated at once.
